Pea Soup & a VERY Short Cruising Day!

MONDAY – We woke early to very heavy fog and could barely see the bow. It lasted until nearly noon, so reaching the Jacksonville RR bridge before dark wasn't possible. We hauled anchor, knowing the tide was nearly out, too. Ugh! Lots more shallow water to transit now. Approaching the Nassau River inlet, we saw a fog bank building and more fog rising over Amelia Island. To avoid more fog, we anchored at Alligator Creek. One short cruise day, only about 90 minutes but, what a spot!! Our short day turned playful, playing Jimmy Buffet on the front deck as we sun bathed, exercised some and even danced a little, with marsh grasses swaying in the breeze and dolphin swimming by. The fog never arrived but we had fun!

Tomorrow morning fog is predicted again. We'll see. Tonight is movie night (The Thing!) so I better get the popcorn ready.

Leaving Fernandina. See dolphin in middle of picture.

Mike and Louis sunning.
