A Surprise Visit from Hugh & Lisa

MONDAY- What a wonderful, whirlwind weekend! Hugh and Lisa visited us and toured Baltimore. Their agenda included art museums, the Edgar Allen Poe House, and many crab cakes. One hi lite was a visit to the “Paper Moon Diner” an eclectic little eatery in the Hampdon area that Lisa found on line. It was decorated with dolls, animal and toy figures of all sizes and shapes and the building was painted myriad bright colors. We had a delicious brunch then walked to the beautiful Baltimore Museum of Art. Afterward, we took the #11 bus back to Canton. Mike & I rode all the way back to the marina while Hugh and Lisa got off in Mount Vernon. Even with the cold (50ish), windy, wet weather, they walked the town for the remainder of the day, really enjoying Baltimore's “gritty” quaintness and historic buildings.
We celebrated Hugh's 40th birthday last night with crab cakes at “MaMa's on the Half Shell” and candle-studded Berger cookies & ice cream aboard SeaDream. They packed up (all too soon) and flew back to Atlanta this afternoon. Julie generously drove them to the airport, saving taxi fare.
Tonight we get together with Julie and Bob for a soup night. Louis and Snickers can visit, too.
